Eswatini’s Game-Changing Move to Make Energy Licensing a Breeze

Eswatini’s energy game just got a major upgrade! The Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority (ESERA) is teaming up with the Eswatini Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (EPTC) to bring license applications straight to the people. No more trekking to Mbabane or wrestling with spotty internet ESERA’s making it easy to get legit in the electricity and petroleum game. Here’s the lowdown:

What’s the Deal?
ESERA is dropping license application forms at 36 post offices across Eswatini, thanks to EPTC’s killer network. Whether you’re in the electricity biz (think Generation, Supply, Distribution, Transmission, Export, or Import licenses) or the petroleum hustle (Wholesale, Retail, LPG, you name it), you can now grab forms where you pick up your mail. Rural folks, this one’s for you!

Why It Matters
ESERA’s CEO, Sikhumbuzo Tsabedze, is on a mission to make public services accessible. “We’re a lean operation, but we’re thinking big,” he said at the Mountain View launch in Mbabane. The goal? Expand their reach without bloating the org. This move nails it by tapping post offices to bridge the gap, especially for EmaSwati far from the capital.

The Real Problem They’re Solving
Fuel’s no joke people hauling it in cans like it’s NBD is a safety nightmare. Tsabedze’s team noticed a spike in this risky biz and said, “Nah, we gotta regulate better.” Plus, with winter fires and carbon monoxide poisonings from improper fuel use (like LPG, aka Handigas), easier licensing means safer usage. Knowledge is power, people LPG’s dangerous, and ESERA’s making sure you know it.

Why Post Offices?
Digital’s cool, but not everyone’s got reliable Wi-Fi or the tech know-how. ESERA is keeping it real with their “accessibility is king” vibe. Post offices are everywhere, and EPTC’s Chief Postal Officer, Sabelo Dube, is hyped: “Our 36 locations are ready to hook you up. Grab a form, fill it out, and we’ll send it to ESERA for processing. Done.”

The Big Picture
This isn’t just about paperwork it’s about safety, compliance, and bringing services to every corner of Eswatini. ESERA’s staying lean, smart, and citizen-focused, while EPTC’s proving why their network is a national flex. Expect fewer fuel-related mishaps and more EmaSwati playing by the rules.

Your Move
Got a side hustle in electricity or petroleum? Hit up your local post office, snag those forms, and get licensed. Stay safe, stay legal, and let’s keep Eswatini’s energy game tight.

Pick n Pay GO Brings Grab-and-Go Convenience to Eswatini

Eswatini shoppers and travelers are about to get a retail upgrade. Lojaf, the franchisee behind Pick n Pay Eswatini, is launching two Pick n Pay GO stores in Nkonyeni and Sikhuphe later this year. These compact, high-traffic outlets will serve up grab-and-go meals, premium coffee, and grocery essentials perfect for underserved areas.

The Nkonyeni store opens by August’s end, catering to locals, golfers, and passersby. The second will land in King Mswati III International Airport’s departures lounge, offering travelers and staff fresh food and drinks for the first time. “No more starving at KM3,” quipped S’thofeni Ginindza of African Alliance, Lojaf’s backer.

The airport store isn’t about profits it’s about brand and service. A mobile vending unit will also serve VIP lounges and staff, filling a gap in basic amenities.

Lojaf’s big picture? Innovate, serve, and grow Eswatini’s economy. From four stores in 2018 to a broader footprint today, they’re building “ahead of the curve” with global standards in mind. “We don’t just grow,” said Ginindza. “We build with purpose.”

Bottom Line: Pick n Pay GO is set to make life easier for Eswatini’s shoppers and jet-setters, proving small stores can pack a big punch.
